What are benefits?

So benefits are a payment that you would receive from the government, and you would receive these for particular needs. So certain examples of this could be that you are unemployed. It could be that you are expecting a baby, you've got children, there's a sickness, or you've suffered a bereavement.

How can benefits help me?

So if you do qualify for certain benefits, these can be there to help you with everyday day-to-day living needs, for example, like your food shopping and et cetera, or should you have a health condition. This can also help to contribute to a better standard of living.

How do I know if I can get benefits?

So millions of pounds every year go unclaimed through benefits. In one year alone, there was 17 billion pounds worth of unclaimed benefits, and good examples of this are council tax, pension credit, and income support. My mom's a really good example of somebody that went without claiming pension credits for years and years.
